Gingko Biloba Anyone?

The last couple of days the sun has been shining and the temps have been in the 40s and 50s. So naturally some of the snow we have has started to melt. This morning Kari and I were walking up the sidewalk to the house and as we were doing this we were talking about how slick some of the stairs were and to be careful. So not 10 minutes later when I went to shovel the slush and ice off the sidewalk I stepped on an icy patched and slid down the stairs. I felt like such a retard. It happened so fast that once I was at the bottom I just sat there for a moment and took inventory on all my limbs. Thank goodness we only have five steps and I only fell down the bottom three. I didn't seriously injure myself but I am starting to feel the after affects of a fall. I am sure I will find bruises and more tender muscles in the next couple days.

On a happy note:

Evan finally said MY name.

Finally

I finally received my last W-2. I am finished with my taxes and only owe $2 to the state of Utah. What a joke. I have to send them a check for that amount but I currently do not have checks so I have to send a money order. For $2. The people at the bank are going to laugh me out of the building.

Catching Up

This is the guinea pig named Elvis that Brett just had to get. I refuse to touch it. I am not a rodent person. Why couldn't they get a fish? Although I do tell Bret that one of these days he will com home and Elvis will be minus a Mohawk. What's really funny is that sometimes he mixes Evan and Elvis up and it comes out Elvin.

Evan loves to get ready to go to "school". He especially loves to carry his lunch box.

So not much is happening in Maine. We have been on the receiving end of several winter storms and I am so tired of them. I have vowed that the next time I move it will be to somewhere where there is no snow year round. I am still waiting for my W-2 from JCPenneys in Utah. I am so frustrated. Its to the point where I check our po box religiously. I finally got ahold of someone at JCP and they said it would be here in 10 days or so. I would like to be done with my taxes. Hopefully I won't owe money to the state of Utah like last year. I owed the state a whole $5 for three weeks worth of wages. It was ridiculous. I finally hung pictures in my room that have been leaning on my wall for the past four months. I was so proud of myself. Yipee.

Well that's it for now. I might post more pics later. We'll have to see.

What is with people? Didn't they learn in elementary school that 911 is for emergencies only? Tonight I was reading the news online and saw this article and then later this one.

These people are ridiculous. Like the police are really going to side with them. People need to start using common sense.

Navajo Tacos

As far as I can remember my family has been making Navajo Tacos. When we were younger we would get to choose what we wanted for our birthday dinner. I would always choose Navajo Tacos and an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Tonight we had some friends over for tacos and it was delicious. I have finally mastered making the dough from scratch. Every time I make them it makes me think of home and family. It makes me think of Sunday dinners when my Aunt Laurel and my cousins would eat with us. We would have a full house and there would be several conversations going on at the same time and everyone would be going in and out of the kitchen. While Mom was stretching out the dough and somebody was cutting tomatoes and lettuce we would try to sneak pinches of freshly grated cheese. Those memories always make me smile.
